Peter Costa is a Managing Director at Carter Morse & Goodrich and leads the firm‘s consumer industry vertical. He brings more than 15 years of experience advising owners and executives of family held and founder led companies on strategies to maximize shareholder value through M&A and capital transactions.
Prior to joining CMG, Mr. Costa spent six years at Consensus, a M&A advisory firm exclusively focused on consumer-facing companies, where he played key roles in closing more than a dozen transactions. These consumer transactions include but are not limited to brands such as: E-Cloth, Lenox, Ross-Simons, Christianbook, WITHit Gear, Summer Infant, Knockaround Sunglasses, Concept AgriTek and Kirkland’s Home.
Prior to Consensus, Mr. Costa worked for Kroll (Duff & Phelps) in the transaction advisory services group advising private equity clients in middle market buy-side and sell-side transactions. There, Mr. Costa advised his clients in a wide array of industries, including consumer products, food and beverage, automotive aftermarket, and manufacturing.
Mr. Costa earned a B.A. degree in Political Science from Davidson College, an MBA degree from the University of Rhode Island, and a Master of Accountancy degree from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management. Mr. Costa currently holds his FINRA Series 63 and 79 securities licenses.
Mr. Costa lives with his wife and three daughters in Barrington, Rhode Island. He is active in his community and serves on the Barrington Planning Board, and an and is an active member of the Rhode Island Country Club.
