RelevantKnowledge was a website audience and demographics measurement company. The Company gathered data from panels of Internet users who agreed to install software on their computers and sold the data to agencies, advertisers and Web publishers. Unlike the leading measurement company at the time, RelevantKnowledge measured business usage of the web.
In a race to become the “Nielsen of the Net”, RelevantKnowledge required capital to grow quickly and wished to bring in the expertise of institutional investors.
A principal of Carter Morse & Mathias helped his firm co-invest alongside J.H. Whitney in RelevantKnowledge. The Company was eventually acquired by Media Metrix.
