Colonial Cooperative Care
Colonial Cooperative Care, Inc. (CCC), formed in 1996, is a leading medical management services organization in Eastern Connecticut and Rhode Island. It provides network management services, physician practice management service, managed care contracting, and independent medical evaluations. Its principal client is Colonial IPA, Inc., an individual practice association network of more than 500 doctors practicing in Eastern Connecticut.
Responding to the medical malpractice crisis in the region, CCC developed distribution capability to enable its affiliated physicians to purchase medical malpractice insurance at favorable rates.
To expand its offering to its physicians, CCC sought an affiliation with an established risk retention group that would provide a stable source of malpractice products to qualified physicians. Carter Morse & Mathias served as CCC's exclusive financial advisor in negotiating the terms of a co-brokering arrangement with an agency affiliated with a major medical malpractice insurer.
