The Napier Company, founded in 1875, was a leading manufacturer and distributor of branded costume jewelry.
Napier had a history of transferring ownership of the Company to successor management teams. Victoria + Co. Ltd., which had made several acquisitions in the industry, approached management with an offer for the Company. Napier’s decision to sell was based on its analysis of the risks and the costs of remaining independent.
