CMM Managing Director, Michael Carter, was recently honored by the Town of Weston which declaring Saturday, June 13, Michael Carter Appreciation Day in Weston.  The town thanked Carter “for his many contributions to our community” which included nearly 10 years on the finance board, acting as president of both Weston Little League and the Weston Sports Commission for the past ten years, and leading the effort to bring Friday Night Lights” to Weston. 

After being recognized for his nearly 10 years of service on the finance board at its meeting June 11, Weston First Selectman Gayle Weinstein issued an official proclamation declaring Saturday, June 13, Michael Carter Appreciation Day in Weston.


In the proclamation, she thanks Carter “for his many contributions to our community.”

Carter stepped down from the finance board on May 1. A former vice president of Chase Manhattan Bank, for the past 28 years he has been the managing director of Carter Morse & Mathias of Southport, a boutique investment banking firm that represents entrepreneurial companies in raising capital and advising on mergers and acquisitions.

The proclamation noted Carter’s “decade of service” on the finance board, “where his many detailed questions resulted in tight budgets and a strategic plan to ensure the fiscal health of the community.”

In addition, Weinstein acknowledged Carter’s tenure as president of both Weston Little League and the Weston Sports Commission, and his role in bringing “Friday Night Lights” to Weston.

Carter has lived in Weston for 29 years with his wife, Susan, and three children.
