Kevin Fiala is the founder and managing director of Bywater Corporate Development Services, LLC, an M&A advisory firm focused on the middle market. As alliance partners, Bywater and Carter Morse & Mathias share resources and industry expertise, and collaborate on projects as appropriate. Bywater and Carter Morse & Mathias have worked together since 2001.

Kevin has more than 20 years of M&A, management consulting, and operating experience. Although he has worked in numerous industries, Kevin has particular experience in chemical and allied products, oil & gas, aerospace, packaging, and healthcare services. Prior to Bywater, Kevin was vice president of an international M&A and management consulting firm and an engagement manager at an international market research and consulting firm. Before entering the consulting industry, Kevin held several planning, marketing, and operations positions within Amerada Hess Corporation, a large integrated oil concern.

Kevin earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Union College and an MBA in Finance from the Graduate Management Institute at Union College. He also attended the Investment Banking Program at the New York University (NYU) School of Continuing Education.

Kevin is Founder of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Connecticut Chapter and is a founding board member of ACG New Jersey Chapter. He is also a board member of the Connecticut Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and has sat on the advisory boards of several private companies. Kevin has authored various articles about M&A.

2017 Year in Review

January 2018

Last year, our 30th year in business, was eventful in so many ways. We settled into our new offices in the historic Tide Mill Building overlooking Southport Harbor. From this new inspirational setting, we seem to get in earlier, entertain many more clients and prospects, and work a little bit harder, even with the distractions of the seasonally-changing wildlife and spectacular sunsets out our office windows. We also managed to close several important transactions, hired and integrated a new managing director and an analyst and earned several M&A awards.

Two CMM Transactions Named Finalist for Deal of the Year Awards

Carter Morse & Mathias is proud to announce that two of its transactions have been named a Finalist in multiple categories for the prestigious Deal of the Year awards at the 16th Annual M&A Advisor Awards ceremony.The sale of Communication Networks, LLC ("ComNet") to Access Control Related Enterprises, LLC ("ACRE"), a portfolio company of LLR Partners a private equity firm was named as a Finalist in the Information Technology Deal of the Year award, while the sale of a majority interest of SavATree to CI Capital Partners, a NYC based private equity firm, was named as a Finalists in Consumer Discretionary Deal of the Year category.
